Brochure and Scholarship Application

You may request or submit an application in four ways:

  1. Send us a short email message requesting that a brochure and an application be mailed to you. Please include your full name and address.

  2. Use our Request Form to have a brochure and an application mailed to you.

  3. Print a copy of the form from your screen, fill out all sections, and submit the paper copy to YLD through the mail or fax.

  4. Fill out an On-line Application and submit electronically.

Award Criteria

The Scholarships and Awards Committee reviews qualified applications in the fall of each year and selects award recipients by letter ballot. Applicants are selected based on five broad criteria. These include:

  • Potential to have a positive impact upon the future of his or her organization and the emergency response community

  • Formal education and previous training, particularly in the areas of management and administration

  • Commitment to professionalism in the emergency response community

  • Documented personal and financial support of the applicants organization

  • Analysis of three recommendations submitted with the application
